Fran Bell is a longtime entrepreneur in Toronto’s hospitality and wellness communities. With her husband, Fadi Hakim, Fran is a co-owner and operator of The Haifa Room, The Lakeview Diner and The Jean Darlene Piano Room. Fran manages spaces that bring people together through food, culture, and connection. At Industry Studio, she brings that same passion for community into the world of movement- helping create a space where science-backed Pilates, thoughtful design, and genuine care come together to support every client’s journey.

Co-owner Lauren Roberts is Industry’s Director of Business Development. Since becoming a physiotherapist in 2011 and Run Coach in 2017, Lauren has dedicated her career to helping runners move better, train smarter, and stay injury-free. She founded The Running Physio in 2016, a clinic focused on run-specific care, which partnered with Athlete's Care Sports Medicine in 2024. Now serving as Run Program Director, she continues to lead innovation in running education and rehabilitation. Also a passionate athlete, she has competed in the Ironman 70.3 World Championships (Austria, 2016) and the Boston Marathon (2018) among countless other events. She developed the Real Running course in 2020 and co-created the Kids Running Course in partnership with Kids Physio Group in 2022. As a brand partner with Canada Running Series and a contributor to Canadian Running Magazine, iRun, Impact, several podcasts, The New York Times and Globe and Mail, she is a trusted voice in the running and sports medicine communities. Her role in the team is in programming classes for runners as well as keeping business “running” smoothly.

Co-Owner and Director of Continuing Education, Riki Richter is an Osteopathic Manual Practitioner with a specialty in women’s health, postpartum care, and movement dysfunctions ranging from low back and SI joint pain to TMJ and postural issues. She has been teaching Pilates for over 30 years with a focus on its rehabilitative benefits. She completed the first comprehensive Pilates teacher training offered in Toronto at Pilates Downtown in 1995.and participated in Downward Dog's first yoga teacher training in 1998.
She opened Mind The Body in 1999 where her and Raza Awan met and began collaborating on patient cases. They opened Synergy Sports Medicine in 2011 incorporating a fully equipped Pilates studio into the clinic. Riki programmed exercises based on common deficits found by Dr. Awan and created Synergy Movement Therapy Protocols used in 1-on-1 and group classes.
With decades of experience bridging rehabilitation and fitness, she brings her deep knowledge of osteopathy and movement to Industry Studio.

Director of Programming, Dr. Awan is a Sports Medicine Physician with over 20 years of experience specializing in musculoskeletal injuries, concussion management, and regenerative therapies. He has worked extensively with elite and recreational athletes, helping them recover from injury and return to peak performance. As co-creator of Synergy Movement Therapy, he developed outcome-based rehabilitation protocols that integrate medical expertise with movement re-education. At Industry Studio, Dr. Awan brings his passion for innovative, evidence-based care to bridge rehabilitation and fitness for all levels of movers and athletes.

Having been very active throughout her life with various sports, consistent weightlifting, and coastal/Rocky Mountain summits, Alice turned to Pilates to rehab her running injury while training for a half-marathon in 2019. Combining both classical and contemporary Pilates movements, you can expect a well-rounded, full-body workout from her classes that leave you feeling strong, energized, and accomplished. She is certified in Barre, Mat, and Reformer Pilates and currently continuing her education to achieve her full STOTT certification. Outside of the studio, you can find her on her bike in the summer and her snowboard in the winter (and eating ice cream year-round).

Kristin is a passionate and fun-loving Pilates instructor with over 13 years of global teaching experience. Her journey began when she left a successful career in Marketing and Communications to pursue her true calling: helping people feel strong, empowered, and deeply connected to their bodies.
Known for her high energy and infectious love of movement, Kristin delivers classes that are equal parts strength, rhythm, and creativity. She masterfully blends contemporary Reformer Pilates with curated playlists, dynamic flows, and plenty of personality. With Kristin, it’s more than a workout—it’s a full-body experience.

Joey (she/her) is a movement educator with a deep respect for the body’s ability to heal and adapt. Trained in mat and reformer Pilates, she came to the practice through her own injury recovery and now blends functional movement with mindful programming to support strength, mobility, and longevity. Her classes are dynamic, welcoming, and designed to help clients reconnect with their bodies — whether you're building endurance, moving through rehab, or just carving out time for yourself. Off the reformer, she’s committed to expanding access to wellness and movement for historically excluded communities.

Sonja works with movement as a Pilates Instructor and a contemporary dance artist in Toronto, ON. As a Pilates instructor with certifications on the Mat, Reformer, Chair, and Therapeutic modalities, she offers a contemporary approach rooted in anatomical understanding and mindful movement. Her teaching emphasizes functional mobility, strength, and a deepened sense of proprioception - helping clients build lasting body awareness and connection from the inside out. With a strong foundation in movement and a supportive teaching style, she creates a space where people can show up as they are, move with curiosity, and grow with confidence.ription

Stephanie is a Pilates Mat and Equipment teacher with over five years of experience
helping people move better, feel stronger, and reconnect with their bodies. Rooted in a background in dance, she brings a deep understanding of movement, alignment, and body awareness to every session she teaches.
Stephanie works with a wide range of movers — from complete beginners to seasoned athletes — with a specialty in supporting clients through injury recovery and rehabilitation. Her approach is thoughtful and adaptive, meeting each person where they are and building strength in a way that feels safe, sustainable, and empowering. Every session is thoughtfully designed to ensure you walk out with a deep sense of accomplishment and a grounded presence, leaving you feeling more at home in your body than when you arrived. -
Leah La Rosa
Leah is a certified mat and reformer Pilates Instructor who loves bringing fun, mindful movement into every class. She has been in the movement space for many years, using it as a tool to get out of her mind and into her body! Her uplifting and supportive teaching style helps clients feel strong, energized and confident after every class.

Danielle is a BASI-certified Pilates instructor with over a decade of teaching experience.
Passionate about the mind–body connection, she creates classes that are challenging, engaging, and fun.
With a background in performing arts and comedy, Danielle brings a warm, upbeat energy to every session. Known for her attention to detail, hands-on guidance, and encouraging approach, she helps clients build strength, confidence, and a deeper connection to their bodies.
Whether you’re new to Pilates or looking to deepen your practice, Danielle creates a welcoming environment where clients can move, learn, and feel their best.

Roxy (she/her) is an artist with two decades of experience who seamlessly blends dance, writing, and healing arts in her multifaceted practice. With a deep curiosity about the human body, mind, and spirit, she advocates for women’s health and holistic well-being.
Roxy has taught dance and various movement modalities within the Canadian educational system, as well as with professional dancers/companies, Cirque du Soleil, and numerous corporations. With certifications in Pilates, GYROTONIC®, Yamuna® Body Rolling, having been a Pelvic Health PTA and her dance background, her work has taken her around the globe.
As a writer, Roxy shares her health and wellness insights on platforms like Pilates Anytime, Healthline, Black Girl Pilates®, and The Dance Current. As an advocate for the arts in our city, Roxy currently sits on The Dance Current’s Editorial Advisory committee and the Toronto Arts Council Dance Committee.
Roxy’s classes are seeped with knowledge, storytelling and intuition. She’s been known to create serene and calming class environments that take the individual on a journey leaving them grounded, open, and aligned in their bodies.

Jessica (she/her) is a contemporary dance artist, certified mat and reformer Pilates instructor.
Jessica’s classes focus on functional movement through creative and thoughtful sequencing. She structures her class with plenty of progressions to modify, or intensify, and encourages students to make intentional choices that are authentic to their individual needs. Jessica aims to foster a welcoming space where movers can get curious, explorative, and make new discoveries. Her classes are designed to make you feel both challenged, and successful. Jessica is passionate about the power of movement, and its ability to promote healthy bodies and minds.

Sebastian Mena is a certified Pilates instructor with over 20 years of personal Pilates practice and a professional background in dance and performance. Originally from Victoria, BC, he brings a deep understanding of the energetic body in motion. Also dedicated to strength training and weightlifting, he sees Pilates as the foundation for staying injury-free, resilient, and strong. His classes blend precision and athleticism with mindful mobility and an innate sense of rhythm, creating sessions that are focused, challenging, and grounded in embodied awareness.
